A currency future, also FX future or foreign exchange future, is a futures contract to exchange one currency for another at a specified date in the future at a price that is fixed on the purchase date. A trader with an open position they may decide to offset or roll forward their position to avoid expiration and delivery. FX future quotes in terms of US dollars per unit of other currency.
Factors influencing the price includes import and export value, economic growth, purchasing power, productivity, Flow of funds in capital markets, interest rate level, sovereign credit rating, trade freedom and political situation.
